What fences have you put up ?

And what crimes have you defined ?

What possessions have you claimed ?

And what possessions have disturbed your soul ?

What address are you imposing ?

And what guests are you evading ?

What memories of love have you destroyed ?

to impose those of your own ?

What fences have you put up ?

And what protections have your fences belied ?

Did the fence make the other against you ?

Or did you declare yourself apart from others ?

Are the intruders in your garden ?

Or are they in your heart ?

Are you chasing thieves that stole from you ?

Or are you looking for what you lost ?

Are you waging war to find peace ?

Or are you coping with the chaos of loss ?

Has the world made you paranoid ?

Or have you put up fences to isolate ?

Is every intruder a terror ?

Or are they balm for the horror ?

Of isolation, distrust and disconnection ?

Of separation, illusion and claim in the name of accumulation?

Are we meant to be apart from one another ?

Could we find peace in each other instead of rage against the other ?

Could we allow kindness and compassion to take over ?

instead of greed and competitive aggression spilling over ?

Is it too much to ask, that you be patient with those who have been given less than you ?

who crave for what you have, what you feel, and hoping you will give ?

Aren’t we all made up of the same, divided only by what we’ve been dealt ?

Ofcourse also by what we make of what we’ve been dealt… but hey. We always had help.

Help that came when we didn’t ask, didn’t want and didn’t know we needed.

Shouldn’t we then remember to pay it forward until our souls feel rested ?

What fences have you put up ?

That don’t allow your mind to unwind, your heart to cathart, your spirit to have no limit and your soul to be WHOLE ?
